FAQS

Hi Professor! I’m in your accounting class this semester. Can I make an appointment to come to you for private or group tutoring?

No.  To be fair to all students, Dr. Errico is unable to tutor students who are currently enrolled in any of her accounting classes.  If you still need tutoring once the semester is finished, or with another accounting class from a different instructor, she will be happy to help!

Will you do my homework/quiz/exam/project for me?

No.  Dr. Errico will help you understand the concepts and material so you can do your own homework or project, or study for your exam.  She will go over some examples from your text or questions similar to your homework to guide you in the right direction and help you grasp the material.  However, you must complete all assignments on your own.

Will I pass my class or get “A” in class if I work with you?

There are no guarantees or promises that you will pass your class or get a specific grade.  Dr. Errico will do her very best to help you understand accounting and grasp the concepts you are struggling with.  Whether or not you pass the class depends on your commitment to completing the coursework, how well you do on your course assignments and how hard you study for your exams.

What accounting topics can you help me with?

Great question! You can receive help in almost any accounting topic. Please view the “Services” page for a list of the specific areas in accounting that you can receive assistance with.

Why should I come to you when there are free tutoring services at my college?

Tutoring services at your school are staffed by students who are still in college or who recently completed the same accounting class you are taking.  They may not be able to help you or explain difficult concepts in a way you can understand.

When you work with Dr. Errico, you are benefitting from her broad academic knowledge in accounting and her extensive practical experience teaching college accounting courses to thousands of students! She takes the time to work with you on the specific topics you are most confused about and helps you understand them!  You will be learning from a proficient college professor who has broad experience with different learning styles and can help you grasp the material quickly and easily.

HELP! I have a major exam coming up in a few days! Can I come to you today so you can help me study and pass the exam?

You are more than welcome to schedule the next available session to get help reviewing for your exam, but there are no guarantees that you will pass the exam just because you come for tutoring.  It is best to ask for help as soon as you realize you are struggling rather than waiting until the last minute!

What do I need to bring to my tutoring session?

Bring all the materials you would normally bring to class.  This includes your notebook, pen or pencil, textbook, calculator (no phone calculators please!) laptop or mobile device if you complete your work on the computer, and any questions or a list of topics you want to go over during the session!

I don’t want my friends or clients to know I’m getting help in accounting!  You won’t tell anyone I’m coming to you, will you?

No.  All your personal information, anything discussed during a tutoring session, and your tutoring schedule is completely and strictly confidential.

When do you offer tutoring appointments?

Appointments are available during the day Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturday.  Please click the “Schedule Now” button to view available time slots.

How long will I need to come to you for tutoring?

It depends on each student.  Some students come just one time for a single topic they are struggling with.  Other students come for a longer period to help during the entire semester.  The amount of tutoring sessions you attend depends on how well you feel you understand the material, and your personal educational goals.  You can schedule an appointment as frequently as you like, it is entirely up to you!

Do I have to commit to a certain number of hours of tutoring?

No.  You can attend as many or as little one-hour sessions as you want.  Students are most successful when they attend several sessions either once a week or every other week throughout the semester to ensure they really understand the material.  If you have several accounting topics you are struggling with, it may take more than one session until you understand the material.

My friends want to come to my tutoring session with me, is that okay?

You can have up to 4 friends or classmates as part of a small-group tutoring session.  Please review the Pricing Page for the fee for small-group sessions.

If your friends are giving you a ride, or coming to keep you company but not attending a tutoring session, they will need to wait outside the building until your session is completed.

I would like to come to a tutoring session during my lunch hour.  Is it okay if I bring my lunch while I work with you?

No.  Food and drink are not allowed during the tutoring sessions.  Please be sure you have eaten or had a light snack before your session. You will be more productive and able to think better if you are not distracted by hunger pains.

Can you help me pass the CPA exam?

Dr. Errico can help you understand challenging accounting concepts that may be tested on the CPA exam.  However it is recommended that you use a CPA Review course specifically targeted to help you study for the CPA exam.

Can you provide accounting, bookkeeping or tax services for my business?

No.  Success in Accounting provides educational services in accounting. Bookkeeping, tax, and accounting services are not offered.

I want to learn Quickbooks so I can do my own accounting, can you help?

Dr. Errico can help you understand what goes on “behind the scenes” in Quickbooks and understand how to read financial statements, but she does not provide lessons in using Quickbooks.

Do you offer discounts?

Discounts are not offered unless there is a special offer going on related to the school year. There are different pricing options depending on the length of the session and if you select one on one or small group tutoring.  If you schedule a session with a few friends, the price per person is much less than one on one tutoring.

How can I schedule a session with you?

That’s easy! Just click the “Schedule Now” button at the top right of your browser and you will see a calendar with my next available appointment.

What if I need to cancel my session?

If you need to cancel a session, please provide at least 24-hour notice otherwise you will be charged 50% of the session fee.

Do I have to sign a contract?

There is an agreement you will have to sign prior to your first session.  The agreement outlines expectations and discusses general policies.  You can find a copy of the Educational Services Agreement here.

It always seems impossible until it's done.
